The lady’s yellow skirt is edged in puce & richly decorated with

gilt & flower sprig’s within iron-red cartouche’s & turquoise

  “oeil de Perdrix” decoration, meaning the eye of a partridge.

Description

A pair of Derby porcelain figures of grape sellers sat on tree stumps on wide flat bases ,applied flowers and leaves with turquoise and gilded scrolls with both the Gentleman & Companion looking at each other.

The Gentleman is decorated in a puce jacket and turquoise breaches and a pale yellow plumed hat .

The Lady has a pale yellow bonnet turquoise bodice, a yellow skirt edged in puce with gilt & flower sprigs within iron-red cartouches and turquoise “oeil de Perdrix” decoration, meaning the eye of a partridge. 

Circa :1760-2.

Provenance: The Peter Bradshaw collection.

Condition: Very Good ,no restoration just minor chips to leaves and bows.
