A fine Derby porcelain porter mug of cylindrical shape , decorated with gilt anthemion scrolls in excellent condition with a relief moulded handle and a colourful hand painted enamel panel  titled ‘a view in North Wales’.

Provenance:  Carrycoats Hall Northumberland.

“Anthemion the flower of Athens” used by artists in their creations as you can see on the side of this Porter mug.

Inspired by nature,  Anthemion is established as a symbol of wealth, prosperity and abundance.

Circa; 1810.

Crowned D and cross batons mark and titles to the under side of the base in red script.

Condition; very good ,no restoration or damage, slight wear to gilding on top rim and just a small glazed over factory chip on the base foot rim.

Size; 4.5 inches, 11 c.m. high.
