 A  Derby Tithe Pig group

The group represents the Farmer’s wife, offering her baby to the Clergyman as payment of the tithe, instead of the pig, which the Farmer holds under his right arm.
incised number 292 on the base.

Circa: 1790.

Condition: Good for this type of item, woman’s thumb on left hand, piglet’s right ear  and some leaves restored.

Height: 16.5 cm “6.50 inches”
