Description

A Staffordshire Whieldon hexagonal teapot and cover with diamond shaped moulded decoration painted in green and 4 vacant cartouches, 2 on each side.

This was manufactured by Thomas Whieldon at Fenton Vivian works Staffordshire England in the mid eighteenth century.

With the body made from a cream- coloured earthenware and a young Josiah Wedgwood working along side Thomas Whieldon in a partnership from 1754 to 1759 researching and developing  different types of bodies it’s believed this was the inspiration for this teapot.
